WHAT IS ROOF SHIELD PROTECTION?
Shingle Shield roof coating features a durable two-part acrylic formula that is specifically designed to bond to worn damaged roofing surfaces providing a strong coating to help extend the life of your roof. It is a high-performance water based system that will provide an exceptional level of protection and will not peal or flake. It is UV stable and will not turn yellow. It will help prevent moisture from penetrating, reduce deterioration of shingles from tar breakdown as well as inhibit the loss of granules that are needed for the integrity of the shingle.

Acrylic roof waterproofing works by creating a seamless, flexible, and durable membrane over the roof surface that prevents water from penetrating. Here's a breakdown of how it works:
1. Material Composition
Acrylic waterproofing products are water-based, elastomeric (flexible), and made from acrylic polymers. These polymers form a strong film when they dry, creating a waterproof barrier.
2. Application Process
- Surface Preparation: The roof surface must be clean, dry, and free of dust, oil, or loose particles.
- Priming (optional): A primer may be applied for better adhesion, especially on concrete or metal roofs.
- Base Coat: An initial coat is applied with a roller, brush, or sprayer.
- Reinforcement (optional): In areas prone to cracking or joints, a reinforcing fabric may be embedded in the first coat.
- Top Coats: Additional layers are applied (usually 2–3 coats total), with drying time between each layer.
3. Curing and Waterproofing
Once fully cured, the acrylic coating becomes a tough, rubber-like film that:

- Expands and contracts with temperature changes

- Resists water pooling (to a degree, though extreme ponding may require special grades)
